week 6 of Project 54

This week's theme was
words
so when we had dinner this week at PF Changs
for my sister's birthday,
and everyone read their fortunes,
a light bulb went off in my head.
My family was all in one spot,
sharing a meal,
reading their fortunes,
laughing,
chatting,
and being happy.
Together.
A moment I will always cherish and a picture to capture it.
Happy Birthday to my fabulous sister.
This one's for you...

Week 5 of Project 52

Muse
That was the theme for this week
No doubt about it that my husband is my muse.
He makes me happy
and happiness is how I spin my creativeness.
I can talk to him about a photo topic
and we bounce ideas off of each other.
He really is my other half
my missing puzzle piece,
he puts the happy in my ness.
I entered a contest this week and had to write about how wonderful my husband is
so I thought I'd share it with you:
My husband is wonderful bc...
He not only loves me and treats me like a princess, but he actually thinks I am one.
He patiently followed me and waited for 9 years for me to be ready to marry him when I wasn't.
He makes me laugh EVERY day.
He's ok with me letting my inner 8 year old shine through.
He makes my dreams... come true, if I dream it, he makes sure it happens.
He understands my need to be independent.
He loves my family.
He provides for me emotionally more than I see most husbands do.
He communicates.
He understands.
He teaches me how to grow to a better person.
 He promotes positivity.
Most importantly, he loves me for who I am.
And that my readers is why he is my muse.
We spent this past Sunday fishing together after working on our house,
listening to music,
and enjoying being on the water.
We didn't catch a thing,
but we enjoyed our time together.
As we were headed in, I looked at him and saw myself in his eyes...

Week 4 of Project 54

This week the challenge was soothing repetition.
At first I didn't have a clue
After brainstorming with Daniel my mind was running full of ideas
I took pictures several days this week to use,
until I settled with the most soothing repetition to me
Water
I love water.  I love being in it, on it, over it, under it, around it.
It doesn't matter how, just as long as I'm near.
I think in another life I was a fish
or perhaps a mermaid.
A girl can dream, huh?
The way the water was rippling under a bridge and the shadows falling just so,
I knew I had my shot.

Week 3 Project 52

Here is Week 3 of Project 52.
The theme was "Shades of Gray"
I did not take this one until the end of the week as I thought and thought about what to photograph.
Then it hit me.
My dad's beard is so dear to me and it's my favorite shade of gray.
Well it's more white than gray. (sorry Dad)
Turned black and white, it's just the perfect shade of gray.
For 20 years all I knew was my dad and with his beard,
until one day he shaved it off and met me
at my favorite restaurant in Auburn.
As he sat down in the booth with me,
I asked if I could help him.
He told me as a child I used to call him daddy.
I had no clue.
See my dad just isn't my dad without that beard
I love it
I love him
Dad, this one is for you.
Enjoy.
Love, Sis

Week 2 of Project 52

This year one of my business goals is to grow more creative and I have many creative exercises under my belt to achieve this goal.  One of them is that I joined a group of photographers (pro, amateur, and all in between!) to do a weekly photo challenge once a week for a year.  I'm taking the harder route and going with the topics they give on a weekly basis.  I'm starting out with week 2, which is the theme of "Illustrate a song." I chose to illustrate "I drink alone," by George Thorogood.  I thought a cat would better represent this song than anyone.  Cats are lone creatures and more independent than any other animal.  Without further ado, my first shot at this project.  Let me know what you think!
