Week 4 of Project 54

This week the challenge was soothing repetition.
At first I didn't have a clue
After brainstorming with Daniel my mind was running full of ideas
I took pictures several days this week to use,
until I settled with the most soothing repetition to me
Water
I love water.  I love being in it, on it, over it, under it, around it.
It doesn't matter how, just as long as I'm near.
I think in another life I was a fish
or perhaps a mermaid.
A girl can dream, huh?
The way the water was rippling under a bridge and the shadows falling just so,
I knew I had my shot.

Auburn National Championship Celebration

Some of you already know, I'm a big Auburn fan.  I was born that way.  At first I didn't have a choice, and as I grew up and had a choice, I still wanted to wear orange and blue.  Some of my greatest memories happened in the loveliest village on the plains. I can remember being a child and looking up at Samford Hall thinking one day I was going to have class in that building, looking over the campus from the Eagle's Nest, tailgating in the "old drill field", visiting my favorite cousin in her college home, high fiving players at Tiger Walk, rolling Toomer's Corner for the first time, and meeting Pat Dye and Aubie.  When I grew up, I made even more memories.... College day in high school with my best friend, visiting my best friend in her apartment as we were college students, moving to Auburn to live with my brother and deciding to transfer because I knew it's where I belonged, living with Daniel and Lucy in our little trailer, tailgating with my family and friends, building a relationship with two of the best friends and their dog, the internship of my dreams, and most importantly the day I hobbled across the stage in the coliseum in a high heel and a boot cast to get my diploma.  Auburn is more than just a football team for me.  It's spirit, it's tradition, it's Saturdays in the fall, it's watching the game with my family and closest friends, it's hearing "War Eagle," it's J&M, it's home.
I am proud to say, "I believe in Auburn and love it." I wasn't missing the chance to cheer my team on to the 2nd national championship and 3rd undefeated season of my lifetime.  Here are some highlights of that day.  If you want to see more, I will be loading them onto a web gallery, so contact me at lifesmirrorimages@gmail.com and I will send you the link to get in.
In closing,
WAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR  EEEEEEAAAAGLE!

Taken through a pair of binocs!

Can you spot the ugly ducklings?

        Everybody Hands go up!!

My two favorite Auburn quarterbacks in one spot.

   The table has been set

I took this of before Tiger Walk started.  Little did he know that he would be the happiest
little Auburn fan there...

Bc THIS guy (help if you can, we aren't sure who) took off his National Championship
wind jacket and gave it to that same little boy

Did I mention Auburn is about making friends?

My favorite from the whole weekend.
War Eagle.

Week 3 Project 52

Here is Week 3 of Project 52.
The theme was "Shades of Gray"
I did not take this one until the end of the week as I thought and thought about what to photograph.
Then it hit me.
My dad's beard is so dear to me and it's my favorite shade of gray.
Well it's more white than gray. (sorry Dad)
Turned black and white, it's just the perfect shade of gray.
For 20 years all I knew was my dad and with his beard,
until one day he shaved it off and met me
at my favorite restaurant in Auburn.
As he sat down in the booth with me,
I asked if I could help him.
He told me as a child I used to call him daddy.
I had no clue.
See my dad just isn't my dad without that beard
I love it
I love him
Dad, this one is for you.
Enjoy.
Love, Sis

Week 2 of Project 52

This year one of my business goals is to grow more creative and I have many creative exercises under my belt to achieve this goal.  One of them is that I joined a group of photographers (pro, amateur, and all in between!) to do a weekly photo challenge once a week for a year.  I'm taking the harder route and going with the topics they give on a weekly basis.  I'm starting out with week 2, which is the theme of "Illustrate a song." I chose to illustrate "I drink alone," by George Thorogood.  I thought a cat would better represent this song than anyone.  Cats are lone creatures and more independent than any other animal.  Without further ado, my first shot at this project.  Let me know what you think!

Beth and Darrel; Huntsville Alabama Wedding photographer

This was a very cold day and we didn't have very long before all three of us started freezing.  Beth and Darrel were both good sports about the cold, especially him.  He was bouncing all over the place and keeping us laughing.  I cannot wait to take pictures of these two at their wedding.  Enjoy a few peeks you two!

Valentine's Day 2010; Scottsboro Alabama Photographer

This year I am offering Valentine's Day cards for $25 per 25.  The price changes slightly the more you order.  These are flat cards with smooth texture on cover stock paper.  The size is 4x5.5 so they are smaller to resemble the typical Valentine's Day cards.  If you would like something a little cheaper, I am offering the option of purchasing a photo greeting card (printed on actual photo paper) for $18 for 25.  These can be ordered at any quantity and the price changes per card added, just ask for the price! You may use any of the pictures from past shoots with me for your card.
What if you haven't had a shoot with me or want new pictures?  Mark your calendars because on January 29 I have the day set aside to have mini sessions for Valentine's day!  The mini session will last 20 minutes and you will receive 25 of the cover stock Valentine's Day cards for $65. Available times will be listed below.  Email me at lifesmirrorimages@gmail.com or call me at 256-609-1520 to set up your appointment.  You must pay 50% down to book and the other 50% is due at the session.  Remember I accept cash, checks, OR credit cards!

2010 Weddings; Alabama Wedding photographer

2010 Year of Weddings in Review
This post is a HUGE thank you to all of my brides and grooms from 2010.
Without you, my photography wouldn't be as successful.
I had a goal to do 8 weddings in 2010.
I shot 16 weddings.
Wow.  I am shocked and pleased.
I couldn't have done it without you.
I made many memories this year, met a lot of new people.
I laughed with you.
I cried with you.
I stressed with you.
I made friends with you.
Each of you have touched my life in different ways and I look forward
to working with you in the future
and watching your families grow.
Happy 2010 and may 2011 bring you happiness and cheer!

Maggie Newborn; Scottsboro Alabama Newborn Photographer

I was excited for this little bundle of joy to come into the world, but even more so that I got the
chance to capture her first pictures.  I can only hope to have the same connection with her
as I do her big brother.  She's the closest thing I have to a niece, as she's the daughter
of two of my best friends.  I'm already picturing us shopping, painting nails, and doing all the girly things in life.  Take a look as this little angel and a few of her big brother who already loves her very much!
